Newly renovated Park Place Restaurant, featuring contemporary American fare, specializing in seafood, steaks and spirits, will officially open on August 12, 2004, overlooking the park in Cupertino's new Cali Mill Plaza. Adjacent to the 224-room Cypress Hotel, Park Place occupies the former Helios global brasserie site and seats 199 guests, including seating for 48 on the outdoor patio. Park Place will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour and weekend brunch along with the opportunity to enjoy open air seating at the bustling restaurant beside the new park. "The proximity of the Park at The Plaza presents us with an ideal opportunity to showcase the restaurant" said Rick Guerra, General Manager. "With an exciting menu and expanded outdoor seating, Park Place is the perfect gathering place for great views of the plaza, classic American cocktails and Chef Brad's approachable cuisine." Menu Executive Chef Brad Kraten's debut menu focuses on American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal produce and locally grown specialty items. Appetizers offered include Smokey House cured Salmon with a Warm potato Latkes, Golden Fried Hushpuppies served with Wildflower Honey; Spicy Pork Ribs with slow cooked beans featuring our house made Molasses BBQ Sauce; Crispy Portobello Spring Rolls with Spicy Mustard Dipping Sauce are among a long list of tempting appetizers. Signature dishes at park place include: from the sea - Oven Roasted Alaskan Halibut with Sweet Creamed Corn, Asparagus, Sweet 100 Tomato Vinaigrette; from Brad's kitchen - "Chicken and Dumplings" with Ricotta Gnocchi and Thyme Jus; from the grill - grilled Kobe beef tri tip steak served with White Cheddar mashed potatoes and topped with a Caramelized Shallot sauce; and a Grilled Pork Chop served with Spoon Bread, Braised Greens, and Apple Sauce. "Our goal was to create a menu that was compatible with a leisurely dining experience," said Brad. "Park Place is a restaurant where everyone can feel comfortable--families, friends, business associates, and the after-work crowd. Every effort has been made to design a casual atmosphere and a fresh, seasonal menu that encourages people to gather and spend quality time together. Bar In addition to the full dining room menu, park place features an extensive bar menu with cocktails and casual foods for guests to enjoy. Shareable plates are available for the after-work crowd to snack on and include selections such as pan fried Dungeness Crab Cake with Celery Root Remoulade and Spicy Red Pepper Sauce; and a Black Angus Burger with aged cheddar, tobacco onions and French fries. The hand-selected wine list includes more than 80 red and white wines and features both domestic and imported varietals. A full bar offers stylized renditions of classic American cocktails such as the straight up sidecar and the Park Side martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Signature park place libations will include the berry mojito, infused with fresh, seasonal fruit, and ultra fine rum. Design Park place was designed by Puccini Restaurant Group of San Francisco, who has created an energetic yet comfortable interior through the artful use of a variety of colors, textures and materials. French doors open onto a relaxing patio with outdoor seating, affording diners with an al fresco atmosphere.
