Built in the 1890s, this Grade II Victorian townhouse hotel offers comfortable, well-appointed accommodation at great-value rates just a short stroll from Gloucester city centre. Its privately run with a blend of personality and professionalism. The hotel occupies a privileged position just a short stroll away from Gloucesters shops, sights, bars and restaurants, yet far enough away to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. This smart hotel in central Gloucester balances quality with genuine value for money and is run with a touch of character and personality. All rooms have digital Freeview TV and free Wi-Fi broadband internet access. At reception, there is a computer workstation for guests use, free of charge. Two-thirds of the bedrooms are non-smoking and the others are kept as smoke-free as possible. There are 6 rooms on the ground floor. The car park has spaces for 20 cars and is available for those checking-in early or staying on in Gloucester after check-out. A civilised place to stay at a civilised cost.

Directions
From the M5 travelling from the North, exit J11, join the A40 dual carriageway. At the roundabout take the B4063, signposted Longlevens, onto Cheltenham Road, go straight on at the next, continue into London Road. The hotel is on the left 300m after the speed camera. Our car park is at the rear in Royal Lane, off Hyde Lane. From the south take J11A onto A417, go straight over two roundabouts, turn right at the third, signposted for Royal Hospital. Go straight on at the roundabout. Continue along London Road, the hotel is on the left 300m after the speed camera. From the A40 /Oxford/ take B436 to avoid Cheltenham. It will bring you to A417 at Birdlip. Take A417 to Gloucester and follow instructions above after passing under the motorway. From A40/Ross, A38, A46 and A49 follow ring road around Gloucester until roundabout signed M5/A40 left. Turn right onto B4063 Cheltenham Road. At the end, straight over roundabout onto London Road. The Edward Hotel is on London Road, left hand side after the speed camera but before the zebra crossing.

Our location is so convenient to the city restaurants that the majority of of guests dine out. Dining at the Edward Serving Hours 18.00 19.30 Last Order taken 18.00 There is a flat charge. We offer a three-course Table d Hote menu, a tasty complete meal with limited choices, and coffee. The atmosphere is that of a peaceful dining room setting, therefore, please be prepared to be the only table eating. If travelling alone we would be happy to serve you in your room. Alternatively, you can order take out to enjoy in the dining room or have plated up and served in your room. The Bar and The Lounge Closes around 22.30 to 23.30 Nightly The City Centre offers a variety of culinary delights and atmospheres. International cuisines, local English fare, and pubs. Corporate diners may eat at a nearby restaurant/pub and have expenses billed via the hotel. This arrangement must be organised via the hotel management in advance.
