The mystical Burren is a very special area with a large concentration of pre-historic ruins and rare plant life. Giving breathtaking views across Galway Bay and the visually surprising and unique Burren limestone landscape, Gregans Castle Hotel is the ultimate hideaway. Simon Hayden and family own and manage this Country House oasis of comfort where hospitality, good food from excellent local produce and peace and quiet are the themes. All bedrooms are individually and elegantly decorated. The superior rooms and suites are particularly spacious and graceful, and are especially recommended. A garden sensitively borrowed from the landscape and the rural setting ensures a peaceful co-existence with nature. We are within one hours scenic drive from both Shannon and Galway Airports. Early check-in is possible. This is a popular stop off point between Kerry and Conemara. Lahinch and Gort Golf courses are 35 minutes away. The Cliffs of Moher are 20 minutes away. Doolin and the Aran Islands are also within easy reach.

Directions

Shannon Airport (SNN): N

Take N18 north to Ennis, from Ennis take N85 for 2 miles north. Then turn right for R476. Drive through Corofin village. After 5 miles turn right for R480 in direction of Ballyvaughan. After 8 miles you will come to the N67. Turn left onto the N67 and the hotel is 2.5 miles on your right.

Galway Airport (GWY): S

On leaving the airport turn right R339 East. After 1 mile turn right onto N18 southbound. Follow directions for Limerick. Just after Kilcolgan village turn right onto N67. After 17 miles at Ballyvaughan turn left in village. Hotel is 3 miles on the left.

Ennis: N

From Ennis take N85 for 2 miles north. Then turn right for R476. Drive through Corofin village. After 5 miles turn right for R480 in direction of Ballyvaughan. After 8 miles you will come to the N67. Turn left onto the N67 and the hotel is 2.5 miles on your right.

Galway: S

Take N18 southbound in the direction of Ennis and Limerick. Just after Kilcolgan village turn right onto N67. After 17 miles at Ballyvaughan turn left in village. Hotel is 3 miles on the left.

Lahinch: S

Take N67 2 miles east to Ennistymon. Turn left and stay on N67 south. Hotel is on the right 7 miles after Lisdoonvarna.

Cliffs of Moher: N

Take R478 north to Lisdoonvarna. Drive through village. Take N67 north for 7 miles. Hotel is on your right before Ballyvaughan.
