Rating: Standard class resort - 2 Star Mobil Travel Guide Rating
Kentuckys Pine Mountain State Resort is one of engaging serenity and gentle seclusion. Large wooded coves boasting centuries old trees suggest a colorful landscape with a storied past. Lofty pinnacles and overlooks afford majestic, awe-inspiring views of the scenic geology found in the Cumberland Mountains. The chirping of birds and the glory of sunrise against mist-shrouded mountains welcome you to breakfat. Later, the beauty of a colorful sunset at dinnertime readies you for a truly peaceful night of rest as you retire to the call of the Whippoorwill. Here, like no other place we know, gets you away from the hustle and bustle of bright lights and motors and back to nature, where it all began. Ten walking trails ranging from easy to difficult afford you the opportunity to safely view and explore these mountains, valleys and streams. A new swimming pool, a putt-putt course and a truly exceptional championship golf course -Wasioto Winds- is located on the property. A beautiful 30 room lodge located atop Pine Mountain. In addition, eleven deluxe 2 bedroom cottages and nine one Bedroom rustic cabins. Dining room seats 120 and has a huge wrap-around window with a panoramic view of the forest and mountains. A blaze of azaleas and rhododendron in springtime and glorious fall colors in late September and October are not to be missed.
