Fairmont rooms are located in our main wings and reflect the elegant architecture of the 1900's. They are a generous size to ensure comfort and luxury during your stay. A Fairmont room features a ceiling fan, armchair and small table.
Deluxe Room
The spacious Deluxe room features historic charm and added living space. Here you can find a quiet corner to relax with an inviting sitting area. Our Deluxe rooms each have two queen size beds and are well suited for families. These rooms can accommodate up to five people with additional space for a rollaway or crib.

The Library Lounge and Bistro
Guests take a step back in time as they enter the relaxing Library Lounge & Bistro. Whether snuggled in an armchair or basking out on the Veranda, visitors are surrounded with warmth and comfort. Any thirst can be indulged - premium scotch, fine wine or knowledge - in the book lined Bistro. The menu reflects the surroundings, combining traditional fare with a decadent selection of local delicacies. Traditional afternoon tea served on the verandah during summer months.
Passamaquoddy Dining Room
The Passamaquoddy Dining Room is decorated with classic Old World charm and has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lovely front gardens. The cuisine features fresh Maritime ingredients and local seafood from the Bay of Fundy, prepared with an exotic flare and personal attention, including herbs picked from Chef's own garden. The Right Whale Pub
It won't take long to spend an hour in the Right Whale Pub & Grill. The cheery atmosphere is complemented by our traditional English Pub setting, creating a room with a truly unique character. Clubhouse Grill (seasonal)
The Club House Grill has panoramic views overlooking Navy and Deer Islands and the Passamaquoddy Bay. The inviting décor and outdoor terrace are complemented by great service and culinary delights. Area Attractions

Bay of Fundy
The Bay of Fundy is home to the highest tides on earth and is one of the marine wonders of the world. Tides fluctuate up to 48 feet, allowing visitors to explore the ocean floor at low tides.
Campobello Island
Campobello Island, part of New Brunswick, was the site of the summer home of President Roosevelt. Located 43 miles away, the Island is accessible by car or by boat directly from St. Andrews by-the-Sea harbor in the summer.
Huntsman Marine Science Centre Aquarium (seasonal)
Located 2 miles from the hotel, the museum features exhibits about local marine and freshwater environment. Highlights include a large touch pool, a family of harbor seals, aquariums with freshwater and marine fish, and terrarium with amphibians and reptiles. Open May to October.
Kingsbrae Gardens
This majestic 27 acre horticultural masterpiece nestled within the heart of St.Andrews by-the-Sea is open daily for all to enjoy from mid-May until October. With over 40,000 trees, shrubs and perennials, a stunning view of Ministers Island and overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay, the constantly changing garden extends a natural invitation to return again and again.
Katy's Cove
Just a 5-minute walk from the hotel is a sandy, warm saltwater beach. Katy's Cove is complete with beach attendant, canteen, beach volleyball, beach house and children's play structure. Great for picnics, barbeques and outdoor events.
Minister's Island
During the summer visitors can enjoy guided tours of this protected Provincial Historic Site. Just 5-minute drive from St.Andrews by-the-Sea, the island is a short drive over the ocean's floor at low tide. Once on the island you will find the summer residence of Sir William Van Horne, Canada's visionary railway builder. The huge mansion has 50 rooms including 17 bathrooms, lavish dining room, large billiards room, bathhouse, barns and windmills. The tour is approximately two hours and the small entrance fee is put towards the operation and further improvements of the island.
Ross Museum
Visitors describe the Ross Memorial Museum as a gem of St.Andrews by-the-Sea! The museum is housed in a red brick Georgian mansion built in 1824, and is one of this town's many historic and architecturally significant buildings. Known locally as Chestnut Hall, the house is set inside a fenced garden featuring beds of heather, roses, and of course, a chestnut tree. Located a half-mile from The Fairmont Algonquin.
Waterfront Pier
The town wharf is located one mile from The Fairmont Algonquin. Here you can view traditional fishing boats and quaint shops, local artisans and a weekly local farmers market. Take a walk along the pier and reflect on the mirror images of this picturesque town during calm waters.
Saint Croix Island
Saint Croix Island is an international historic site and viewing parks are located on both sides of the river. The first Europeans to settle in the area were a company of French explorers led by Sieur de Monts (Pierre de Gua) and Samuel Champlain in 1604. For more information, visit the Parks Canada website.
Atlantic Salmon Interpretation Centre (seasonal)
Situated on the Chamcook Stream, just four miles away from the hotel via Route 127 east, the Atlantic Salmon Federation's interpretation centre acquaints visitors with all aspects of the wild Atlantic salmon's history, biology, and challenging environment. Visitors will also enjoy the Salmon Hall of Fame, nature trails, and in-stream aquarium, where live salmon can be observed in their natural surroundings. Open June until late September.
Whale Watching (seasonal)
Available May to September, weather permitting. There are several whale-watching operators in St.Andrews by-the-Sea. Inquire with the Concierge Desk for pricing and reservations.

The Spa at The Fairmont Algonquin
In keeping with our rich history, The Spa at The Fairmont Algonquin invites you to be pampered from head to toe with a vast array of soothing and healing treatments which reach far beyond the original salt water bath of the past. The Spa at The Fairmont Algonquin offers services ranging from facials and nail services, to body wraps and full massage services. Call in advance to book your spa treatment.
Pool and Fitness Center
Facilities include an outdoor heated pool (open mid-June to mid-September) with chaise lounges, grass area with tables and chairs, complimentary towels, poolside dining and beverage, indoor whirlpool, sauna, men's and women's changing rooms with lockers, fitness center with exercise equipment, and outdoor tennis courts. Children under 16 years of age are not permitted in the Fitness Center. Use of the Fitness Center is complimentary for guests of The Fairmont Algonquin. A Children's program is offered from June to September.
Tennis, Squash and Racquetball Courts
Show your skills on one of the two outdoor tennis courts, try your luck at squash and racquetball. Court reservations are necessary. Balls are available for sale. Available May to September.
Golf (seasonal)
The Algonquin Golf Course and Academy is open from April to September, weather permitting. Redesigned by the renowned Thomas McBroom, the layout takes full advantage of its location on the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay, being full of surprises and beautiful scenery. Especially breathtaking is the oceanfront sequence of holes on the back nine. In addition, the Clubhouse Grill offers an exciting menu including specialized theme nights and many maritime favorites.
