The Conwell Inn is a smoke-free, pet-friendly boutique hotel with the charm and feel of a European bed and breakfast. The Inn is located in the heart of beautiful & historic Temple University founded in 1888. Each of our 22 designer rooms are unique and reflect the charm, ambiance and history of the nineteenth century brick & mortar town homes that now house the hotel. Typical architectural features include floor to ceiling bay windows, original moldings and high or arched ceilings. Views of ivy covered gothic buildings and multi-cultural campus life abound from every guest room window. Design features include custom made bedspreads and matching privacy draperies and valances, high end mattresses, solid cherry wood furniture and plushly upholstered chairs. Modern conveniences include a 24 hour front desk, wireless high speed internet throughout the hotel, individual coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, hairdryers and large TV's with premium cable channels (including 4 ESPN and 4 HBO channels). A business desk with a computer, printer and fax machine is available in the lobby. Amenities include a filling hot & cold complimentary breakfast, featuring make-your-own Belgian waffles and afternoon refreshments of either homemade cookies and tea or wine and cheese. The Conwell Inn is less than 10 minutes by car, cab or subway to all of Philadelphia's major attractions including Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, The National Constitution Center, Center City shopping, The Pennsylvania Convention Center, The Philadelphia Art Museum and the Philadelphia Zoo.

Take PA Turnpike to Exit 24 (Philadelphia/Valley Forge). Follow I-76 East for 18 miles to Exit 38 (Central Philadelphia/East 676). Note: this is a LEFT lane exit. Proceed one-half mile to the Broad Street Exit. Turn left on Broad Street - 611 North - and follow North Broad past Montgomery Avenue until Berks Mall, which is 1 1/2 blocks past the Liacouras Center. You may walk east (to the right) on Berks Mall 1/2 block to the Conwell Inn, or, if you are driving, continue past Berks Mall 1/2 block to Beaseley's Walk on the right (if you have gone to Norris Street you have gone too far). Turn right into Beaseley's Walk driveway and follow around to the end where you will see campus police. The Conwell Inn is on the left.

Northeast Extension Pennsylvania Turnpike

Take Exit 25A to I-476 (Blue Route) South approximately 5 miles to I-76 East. Follow I-76 East for approximately 18 miles to Exit 38 (Central Philadelphia/East 676). Note: this is a LEFT lane exit. Proceed one-half mile to the Broad Street Exit. New Jersey Turnpike via Benjamin Franklin Bridge

Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 4; then follow Route 73 North one mile to Route 38 West. Follow Route 38 approximately six miles to cross Benjamin Franklin Bridge. From the bridge follow signs to Vine Street Local Traffic and proceed one mile to Broad Street. Turn left on Broad Street - 611 North - and follow North Broad past Montgomery Avenue until Berks Mall, which is 1 1/2 blocks past the Liacouras Center. You may walk east (to the right) on Berks Mall 1/2 block to the Conwell Inn, or, if you are driving, continue past Berks Mall 1/2 block to Beaseley's Walk on the right (if you have gone to Norris Street you have gone too far). New Jersey Turnpike via I-95

Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) Cross the turnpike bridge, staying in the right hand lane and exit immediately past the toll booth on the Pennsylvania side ( Exit 29). Follow Route 13 South for two miles to Route 413 North. Turn right and proceed one mile to I-95. Turn left and follow I-95 South for 16 miles to the Girard Avenue Exit. Follow Girard Avenue for 2.3 miles to Broad Street. Turn right on Broad Street - 611 North - and follow North Broad past Montgomery Avenue until Berks Mall, which is 1 1/2 blocks past the Liacouras Center.
