St. Catherine Street/Shopping

St. Catherine Street is one of the best-known streets in Montreal. It is situated in the hub of the city and is accessible by the underground passage. This street is home to these shopping locations, The Bay Department Store, Eaton Centre, Ogilvy's Department Store and much more. It is only two blocks away from the hotel. The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is located directly over the underground city of boutiques, stores, restaurants and cafes. The Biodome itself is a wildlife & plant biology exposition where you walk through themed forest and view animals, fish, etc. It can be accessed from the hotel via the underground subway.

Botanical Garden and Insectarium

Montreal's Botanical Garden is the second largest botanical garden in the world, next to the one in London, England. The Insectarium is a section of the Botanical Gardens featuring the butterfly pavilion, as well as a collection of 25,000 insects on display. The attraction is located 10 minutes away from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth.

La Ronde Amusement Park (seasonal)

La Ronde features 35 different rides, something for every member of the family. The park is located on Ile-Ste-HÃ©lÃ¨ne, about a 15-minute drive from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. Open mid-May to September.

Old Montreal

Old Montreal is located 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth.

Pool and Health Club

The Pool and Health Club area includes an indoor salt-water pool and whirlpool, a children's wading pool, men's and women's steambaths and changing rooms, as well as fitness room with exercise equipment. At the pool, children under 12 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. Children under 14 years old are not permitted in the training room. A proof of age may be required.

Golf and Other Activities

Several golf courses can be found in the vicinity, a short drive from the hotel. Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello Golf Club is about an hour away from Montreal.
