Cape Town International Airport
* Proceed from the airport complex onto the N2 highway in the direction of City or Cape Town (the other direction will be Somerset West). * Continue along the N2 highway past all the off-ramps until the M3 merges to form five lanes of traffic. * Keep as far left as possible, as you need to proceed along De Waal Drive (the other lanes branch into Eastern Boulevard). * Continue along De Waal Drive which winds its way around the foot of Table Mountain. * As you pass under an overhead walkway, slow down and turn left into Mill Street (if you continue, the road becomes Roeland Street). * Continue along Mill Street (which then changes its name to Orange Street), passing through two sets of traffic lights. * Before the pedestrian traffic lights on your left-hand side are the Prince of Wales Pillars, signifying the entrance to The Mount Nelson Hotel.

The Ballroom
Well known in Cape Town as a venue for large and medium size functions, this elegant, chandeliered setting is decorated in grand style and lends itself to wedding receptions, product launches and exhibitions. It comprises three interconnecting rooms that may be used in various formats, according to client needs. Standard facilities in The Ballroom include a four-microphone input system and four-track tape deck, with playback facility. The Ballroom is suitable for hosting a cocktail party for up to 400 guests and can accommodate up to 220 in a dinner dance setting.
The Garden Room
Originally designed as the hotel's main dining room, this imposing venue is a much-recognized keepsake of the hotel's last-century history. Adjacent to The Cape Colony Restaurant, it features a sweeping entrance, topped by a unique, recessed orchestra balcony. Wood-paneled walls offset impressively ornate murals and high, barreled, pressed ceilings. Windows overlook the hotel gardens. By virtue of its capacious interior, this venue is used primarily as a setting for major banqueting functions. The Garden Room is suitable for hosting a cocktail party of up to 150 guests and can accommodate up to 90 in a lunch or dinner setting.
The Lady Hamilton Room and Verandah
Situated off the main hotel lounge, this beautiful room offers the intimate ambience of a comfortable English-style interior with fireplace, and may be used as a formal, small dinner venue, conference room with cinema-style seating, or larger area for cocktail functions. Doors open onto the light, airy closed Verandah, which affords views of the Kitchener Fountain set in the hotel's idyllic gardens. The Verandah is most often used for serving refreshments. Standard equipment for presentations is available. The Lady Hamilton Room and Verandah is suitable for hosting a cocktail party for up to 80 guests, can accommodate up to 30 in a lunch or dinner setting, and up to 20 cinema style.
The Union Castle Room
Situated on the hotel's first floor, The Union Castle Room pays homage to the hotel's historic links with the mail ships of earlier times and their seafaring passengers, many of whom were guests at the hotel. A compact venue, it is ideally situated for board meetings, smaller conferences and formal lunches and dinners. Standard audio-visual equipment is available. The Union Castle Room can accommodate up to 14 guests for a lunch or dinner setting, or boardroom style.
The Orchid Room
Situated on the ground floor next to The Grill Room staircase, The Orchid Room caters primarily to smaller groups and is popular as a venue for private or business meetings and working groups. A variety of seating and table arrangements is available, depending on individual needs. Standard equipment for presentations is available.
