Area Attractions
Catedral
This cathedral, with its five naves, is considered as the most important Renaissance building in Spain. Built between the Gothic and the Renaissance periods, it presents elements of an early renaissance style. It is particularly important for its main chapel (Capilla Mayor), for the lateral chapels and for the sculptures of the facade. It is 300 metres away from the Hotel.
Capilla Real
The Royal Chapel (Capilla Real) was built between 1505 and 1521, under the reign of the Catholic Kings. 300 metres away from the Hotel.
La Lonja
Building dating back to the 16th century, with a facade in plateresque style. It is close to the Cathedral and to the Capilla Real, 300 metres away from the Hotel.
La Alcaiceria
Old Arabic silk-market, which throughout the centuries has not lost any of its lively atmosphere (though today you are more likely to find souvenirs there).
El Albaicin
In this part of the city, on a hill right in front of the Alhambra, was located the king's residence during 11th centuries. To that period belong the remaining parts of the walls of the Alcazaba, the arches of Puerta Monaita, Puerta Elvira, Arco de las Pesas, the Arabic baths and the Palace of Dar Al-Horra, which belonged to the mother of King Boabdil. 2 km - 1.2 miles away from the Hotel.
Cuevas del Sacromonte
In these caves in the mountain of Sacromonte lived for centuries gypsies' communities. Many of them have been changed into bars for tourists, decorated with ceramics and traditional copper-works, and can host Flamanco performances. Certainly they are something you shouldn't miss during your visit to Granada. 2 km - 1.2 miles away from the Hotel.
Alhambra y Generalife
The Alhambra is not only the most important, but also the best preserved Arabic palace of that period. There are two entrances, the northern Puerta de las Armas and the southern Puerta de la Justicia, which leads to the first courtyard and to the Mosque. The Generalife gardens date back to the 14th century and still have their original shape. 2 km - 1.3 miles away from the Hotel.
Sierra Nevada
It is the Spanish highest mountain-range and it offers facilities for winter-sports. 35 km - 22 miles away from the Hotel.
Malaga
129 km - 80 miles away from the Hotel.
